O'Tomalty Gets Award for Relief Work
Sunday, October 4th, 2020
Jake O'Tomalty was a calming influence out of the Thunder Bay Northern Lions BC bullpen this season.
His teammates and manager said he had a poised demeanor about him that was typical of someone much older and more experienced. His poise has paid off, as the 25-year-old turned in a sparkling season and has been named the winner of the Third League Reliever of the Year Award for 2020.
The Houston, Texas native won the award with 30 saves in 46 relief appearances, 64 strikeouts in 49 innings and a record of 4-1 to go with his 1.47 ERA.
Woody Cook of the Capital District Red Knights finished second in voting, while Jesús Prieto of the Kingston Township Legion 9 finished third.
