Knight Sets Home Run Record
Tuesday, September 25th, 2018
History was made today at The Thunder Dome when Dave Knight of the Capital District Red Knights went deep for the 31th time and broke the old single-season mark held by the great Félix Pérez. The fans responded to the historic homer with a tremendous ovation that lasted several minutes. Knight told the press his philosophy of hitting after the game, "I always get a lot of bang for my buck... I swing from the heels and try to hit a homer every time. So far it's worked well for me. I always get my money's worth."
Dave Knight homered off Javier Ramírez in the 2nd.
So far this season Knight has put up a .298 batting average with 108 hits, 31 home runs and 81 RBIs.
