Eler Swings for the Cycle Friday, August 3rd, 2018 Terrence Eler really put the hurt on the Lone Star BC today, leading the Thundercats to a 10-0 win. He tagged them for 4 hits in 4 at-bats and hit for the cycle. Eler also had 3 runs batted in and 3 runs scored in the game at The Thunder Dome. Hitting for the cycle is one of the most unusual feats in baseball at any level. The odds are near astronomical against a player hitting a single, a double, a triple and a home run in the same game. The Richardson City right fielder said after the game, "I got some great pitches to hit... all 4 times the pitches didn't go where the pitcher wanted them to go. I hit their mistakes. Hitting for the cycle was great, but winning the game and helping my team is far more important. Individual accomplishments are fine, but I want to win, too." Terrence Eler singled in the 1st, hit a three-run home run off Grant White in the 2nd, tripled in the 4th and doubled in the 6th. Eler is currently batting .388 with 15 home runs, 28 RBIs and 28 runs scored. He has 45 hits in 116 at-bats. |
