Smoke, BC Confirm Trade Wednesday, August 1st, 2018 It took some time to iron out the details, but the Smoke and BC have agreed to a swap. Philadephia 1776 will get 19-year-old minor league third baseman Josh Stafford with Atlanta receiving 29-year-old closer Rick Payne in return. A source close to the trade talks said the two clubs were initially looking to make a bigger deal, but discussions broke off late last night. The two sides reconvened early today and eventually settled on this deal. This season Payne has 14 saves with a 5-2 mark and 3.90 ERA. |
