Guy Hits for the Cycle Sunday, September 10th, 2017 What do you get when you combine a good eye, some bat control, speed, and power? Well, if you add a little bit of luck and mix it all together, you get what Joe Guy of the Hialeah Dodos had today at Cayuse Ballpark. He put together quite a performance at the plate and came away with the cycle, helping his team clip Gryfindor 23-1 and give the fans a memory they will never forget. "This is the most amazing feat I've ever witnessed at a ballgame!" said a longtime Hialeah fan. "I have probably been to several hundred games in my life and I've never seen anything like it." For the day the Dodos center fielder had 4 hits in 7 at-bats with 5 RBI and 4 runs scored. Guy etched his name into the record books by hitting a single, a double, a triple, and a home run, all in the same game. When asked after the game how it felt to join such an exclusive group, Guy replied, "It just feels great to help the team get the W." Joe Guy grounded out in the 1st, flied out in the 2nd, doubled in the 4th, singled in the 5th, hit a two-run triple in the 6th, hit a three-run home run off Connor Dale in the 7th and flied out in the 9th. So far in 2017 Guy is batting .339 with 35 home runs, 120 RBIs and 106 runs scored. He has 158 hits in 466 at-bats and a .402 OBP. |
