Burke Strokes 5 Hits Saturday, September 9th, 2017 "Believe it or not," said Brinkley third baseman Max Burke, "they threw me some good pitches today." That would be hard to believe for anyone who saw him dispose of the Maple Leaves with a great 5-hit performance. "He made it look easy," said the Sylvania manager, who saw his team fall to the Brinkley Belugas, 8-3. "Hats off to him!" Max Burke hit a solo-shot off Han Sawallisch in the 1st, hit an RBI single in the 2nd, hit a solo-shot off Wilson Castillo in the 4th, doubled in the 6th, singled in the 8th and grounded out in the 9th. Looking at his season stats, Burke has compiled a .275 batting average and a .341 on-base percentage, while hitting 7 home runs and driving in 32 runs. |
