Partisans End Alvia's Streak Wednesday, August 16th, 2017 The Rappahannock Partisans got more than a 6-1 victory over Hialeah today at Dodos Ballpark. They put an end to José Alvia's 20-game hitting spree by holding him without a hit in 3 at-bats. But it was no big deal to the Dodos left fielder. Alvia seemed to feel more for his team than himself. "I had some great looks at some pitches that I should have hit. I missed some that I shouldn't have swung at. All in all, I wasn't much help with the bat today." This season Alvia is batting .366 with 30 home runs. He has scored 65 runs and driven in 89. |
