Lumberjacks Rodríguez Smacks 5 Hits Saturday, September 23rd, 2017 History in the making. That's what the fans at Golden Gulf Riders Ballpark got to see today, when Thunder Bay outplayed the Storm 13-1. Roberto Rodríguez of the Lumberjacks came to the plate 5 times and came away with a dynamite day as he exploded for 5 hits against SC. In the postgame press conference the SC skipper quipped to reporters, "Hey, we tried to get him out. We threw everything but the kitchen sink against him and he hit it. Maybe we should've thrown the kitchen sink." Roberto Rodríguez singled in the 2nd, hit a solo-shot off José Sánchez in the 4th, singled in the 5th, hit an RBI double in the 6th and hit a two-run home run off Héctor Amaya in the 8th. Rodríguez is hitting .299 in 2017 with 76 RBIs and 28 home runs. |
