Pérez Hits Record-Setting Blast Friday, September 22nd, 2017 What a season to remember! Today Félix Pérez established a new league mark for home runs in a season with 28. Talking to reporters after the record-breaking game at Cloverdale Legion 9 Park, Pérez commented, "Wow! 28! That's a lot of homers! 28 homers in a season! I have just beaten the season record of Jimmy Massey. Can you believe it? Now that was great ballplayer. I'm not as good as he was. He was one of the all-time greats. I don't put myself in his class, but it will be nice to have my name in the record book." Félix Pérez homered off António Cruz in the 1st. So far this season Pérez has hit .329 with 28 home runs, 84 RBIs and and scored 71 times. |
