3L Selects Rookie Star of the Month Friday, September 1st, 2017 José Meléndez's eyes seem to light up whenever he sees the baseball. The young Norfolk center fielder has been hitting everything in sight for the better part of a month. In August he was voted the Rookie of the Month Award. During the month he hit .388 with 7 doubles, 1 triple and no home runs. Meléndez also scored 12 times and drove in 8 runs. This season Meléndez is hitting .321 with 101 hits, 5 home runs, 35 RBIs, scored 57 runs and played in 87 games. |
