League Issues 5-Game Suspensions for Brawl
Sunday, September 24th, 2017
After an intense confrontation, both the Retrievers Mario Romero and the Rivermen Zander Fry were handed their punishments today. The league commissioner's office issued suspensions for an on-the-field conflict that occurred at a recent Northern Virginia-Montreal game. Both players will miss 5 games as a result of their actions.
"Sometimes we go too far and have to pay the consequences," Mario Romero commented later. "Hopefully cooler heads will prevail the next time we play."
In his 2017 season totals, Romero has no home runs, .208 BA, .292 OBP, 4 RBIs and 10 runs scored.
This year Fry has a 8-7 record with a 3.51 ERA.
