The Smokin' Guns offered little resistance to Gil, who stopped them on 3 hits, fanned 7 and walked 4. "It just felt right today," the right-handed Gil told reporters after the win. "Even with the rain, it didn't throw me off my rhythm." On his stats sheet this season Gil shows a 8-13 record, 23 starts, 145.2 innings, 117 strikeouts and a 4.82 ERA.
