Beavers Lose 5-2 Decision to Bandits
|
The San Francisco Bandits beat the Baffin Island Beavers, 5-2, at Bay View Park. The win was largely due to the efforts of third baseman Anacleto Morillo, who captured player of the game honors. He was 2 for 3 with 2 home runs. He drove in 3 runs and scored twice. Even with the win, the Bandits have a dismal 7-31 record.
Had David Crespo not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the seventh, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and runners on 2nd and 3rd, Crespo hit a 2-run double. That made the score 4-2, in favor of the Bandits.
"One win at a time, one game at a time. We try not to get too far ahead of ourselves," Morillo told the San Francisco Times.
