Beavers Stymie New York, Take 2-1 Win
The Baffin Island Beavers picked up a win at Beaver Dam, knocking off the New York Knights, 2-1. Starting pitcher Thierry Garneau, who captured player of the game honors, was a big reason why. Brent Miller nailed down his 6th save. With the loss, New York drops to 18-14.

The Beavers got a big at-bat from pinch hitter Jonathan MacVey. For the game, MacVey was 1 for 1 with a double, while adding 2 RBI. In the bottom of the seventh, with runners on 1st and 2nd, he stroked a 2-run double. His 3rd double of the season gave Baffin Island a 2-1 lead.

"One win at a time, one game at a time. We try not to get too far ahead of ourselves," Garneau told the Baffin Island Daily.
