Valdéz Named Top Reliever for CL Wednesday, November 15th, 2028 Springfield Stars reliever José Valdéz said he loves to come into the game when the outcome is in jeopardy. He certainly did a good job of impacting his team's outcomes this season, as he has been named the winner of the 2028 Reliever of the Year Award for the Continental League. "There's no better feeling than running in from the bullpen with the game on the line and your heart pumping," Valdéz said. On the season, the Lenexa, Kansas native had 47 saves in 77 relief appearances, 129 strikeouts in 99.1 innings and a record of 6 wins and 4 losses to go with his 1.45 ERA. Gerald Johnson of the Jersey Shore D-Bags finished second in voting, while David Simpson of the Vista Panthers finished third. |
