Springfield Win Divisional Round
Wednesday, October 18th, 2028
The Springfield Stars said they felt the Divisional Round with the Kansas City Kings would go the distance.
But it didn't end up being that difficult, as Springfield advanced to the League Championship with a 4-1 score, to clinch the series 4-2 at Kekambas Park.
"Whether it goes to the final game or not, we faced a good team and got the job done. It's a big momentum boost for us," said Elliott Newell, who was named series MVP. "We're all feeling pretty good about our chances to win the BSA Championship."
For the series, Newell hit .409 with a .500 on-base percentage. He had 0 home runs, drove in 6 RBI and scored 4 runs.
The Springfield Stars will play against the Seattle Pikes in the next round. Seattle won their series against the Greenville 84s 4 games to 1. The League Championship schedule will be announced after the Divisional Round finishes.
