Top of the Charts: Ramey Has Hit Record
Saturday, September 23rd, 2028
Dave Dodd was the old recordholder. Now he's history and number two on the league all-time single-season hit leaderboard. He has been supplanted by Don Ramey of the Nassau Rockets, who collected the historic hit at Nassau Grounds to set a new mark. That pushed his total for the season to 240 hits. He spoke with the press after the game and said, "It's a great honor to see your name in the record book, along with the great stars of the past. I know my family will get a kick out of it."
Don Ramey flied out in the 1st, grounded out in the 3rd, grounded out in the 5th and doubled in the 8th.
This season Ramey is hitting .368 with 240 hits, 23 home runs, 93 RBIs, scored 135 runs and played in 152 games.
