Dedicated fans at Rainbow Stadium weathered the storm to watch their beloved Tropics beat the Noise.

The Maui Tropics had to overcome a big game from Nevada designated hitter Willie Wallace to leave Rainbow Stadium with a 7-4 victory. Wallace was 3 for 4 with a home run and a double. Júlio González earned the win for Maui. He lasted 6.1 innings, allowing 4 earned runs on 6 hits, while striking out 8. With the win, he raised his record to 4-3. Earning his 2nd save of the year was Mark Stewart.

Chipping in for Maui was right fielder José Rivas. He stroked a 2-run home run in the bottom of the first. For the game, Rivas went 2-4 with a home run. He drove in 2 runs and scored once.

Rivas said afterward that he was glad to contribute to the win.

Maui, at 25-44, sits in last place in the National League Western Division.
