Cotton Hands New Orleans 3-0 Loss
|
Maui beat New Orleans in a rain-soaked ballgame.
In a tight game between the Maui Tropics and the New Orleans Looters, pitcher Ronald Cotton was terrific on the mound. The Maui right-hander was named the player of the game in Maui's 3-0 win. Maui has 3 straight wins, New Orleans 3 straight losses.
Cotton, who dominated for Maui, earned the victory to move to 5-5. He was in control the whole game, scattering 4 hits over 8 innings, while striking out 5. New Orleans batters could never bunch up enough hits to produce a rally.
"In baseball, you have your ups and downs," said New Orleans manager Ramón Aragón. "You just try to stay level-headed the whole time."
