Machine Win at So Cal, 6-4

The Chicago Machine topped the So Cal Bruins, 6-4, with left fielder José Valdéz playing a big role. Valdéz was 1 for 3 with a home run. He drove in 4 runs and scored once for the Machine in the win. The winner was Aaron Thrash, who threw 107 pitches over 8 innings. The right-hander was charged with 3 runs on 10 hits. Víctor Reyes converted his 7th save in 9 tries.
Lorenzo Guzmán's at-bat in the top of the eighth inning was a big one for Chicago. Coming to bat with one out, the bases loaded and Chicago leading 4-3, the center fielder hit a run-scoring single.
"I was able to barrel up some pitches," said Valdéz.
Chicago is now 22-34.
