Rebels Take Close Win Over Mountaineers
|
Boston beat Beech Mountain on the strength of starter Cris Rincón's fine effort. The right-hander led his team to a 6-3 win. At 23-33, Boston is in third place in the National League Eastern Division.
One important at-bat came with runners on 2nd and 3rd in the bottom of the seventh inning. Facing Beech Mountain hurler Bret McJannett, John Mendelson, who is a two-time All-Star, drew a walk. The Rebels went on to win.
"Winning never gets old," said Rincón.
