The Tropics faced a stiff challenge from Nashville pitcher Javier García, but persevered to claim a win at Rainbow Stadium. The final score was 4-3. García went 8 innings and allowed 2 earned runs. Even with the win, the Tropics have a dismal 19-37 record.

The game was decided with one out in the bottom of the ninth. With Maui trailing 3-2, Mike Pearson hit a fastball from Junior Mateo to right for a 2-run home run. Just like that, the Tropics had a walk-off win.

"This place was electric at the end," Pearson said.
