Marshals Take Down River Sharks, 3-2
|
The Houston Marshals picked up a win at Mythology Coliseum, knocking off the Austin River Sharks, 3-2. Starting pitcher Stan Aldridge, who captured player of the game honors, was a big reason why. Aldridge, now 4-5, was the winner. In 8 innings, he gave up 9 hits, while striking out 4, walking 0, and allowing no earned runs. Picking up the save was Alfonso Ramos, his 2nd.
John Peterson, who leads the CL in triples with 5, aided the Houston cause with a run-scoring walk in the bottom of the second. For the game, the left fielder was 1-3 with a walk.
"For the most part, I stayed out of the middle of the plate," Aldridge said.
The Marshals raised their record to 22-31.
