Loss Extends New York Losing Streak
|
Marvin Harris did all he could to help his team win. In the end, though, it wasn't enough to keep the New York Knights from losing, 7-4, to the St. Louis Browns at Roy Hobbs Memorial Ballpark. Harris belted 2 home runs, while scoring 3 times and driving in 2. The save was credited to António López, his 18th. The losses continue to mount for New York, which has now dropped 7 in a row.
The St. Louis win was a team effort. It included major contributions from, among others, Jeff Jones. In the top of the first, the St. Louis third baseman came to bat and hit a 2-run single. It staked his team to a 2-0 lead.
"Everyone's kind of edgy right now," said losing manager Ed Livingston, "but nothing a couple of wins wouldn't cure."
