Rockets Need Extra Frames to Get Past River Sharks
The Nassau Rockets wiggled past the Austin River Sharks, 3-2, at Greendale Community Field. Nassau pitcher Suezo Morimoto earned player of the game honors. Nassau reliever Guan-cai Yong was the winner. His record is now 2-2. Tatsuzo Harada took the loss. The third-place Rockets improved to 25-25.

Both teams had trouble manufacturing runs. So, Howard Parker's at-bat in the top of the 13th was critical. With two out, the Nassau second baseman hit a run-scoring single, to give his team a 3-2 lead.

"Our guys just had that look of determination," said winning manager Ji-an Shaw.
