Rockets Fall Short, 3-2, at Austin
|
Austin River Sharks starter Troy Lynn turned in a sterling performance against the Nassau Rockets, leading his team to a slim 3-2 win. Lynn picked up the win for Austin, going 7 innings. He gave up 2 runs on 6 hits. He now sports a record of 2-6. Austin, at 13-34, occupies last place in the Continental League Central Division.
Enrico Vargas had a productive trip to the plate with no one out in the bottom of the fifth inning. With a runner on 1st, he drew a walk, helping Austin to the win.
In comments to the Austin News, Vargas insisted that he's not as disinterested as it often appears. "Haters will hate," he added.
