Erickson Twirls a Gem for Springfield
|
The Springfield Stars got a magnificent performance from pitcher Anthony Erickson, who stifled the Kansas City offense en route to a 3-0 Stars win at The Throne Room. Springfield is first in the Continental League Central Division with a record of 38-10.
Erickson earned the win, going 8 strong innings for Springfield. The native of Bel Aire, Kansas allowed just 2 hits, while striking out 7. Kansas City hitters did next to nothing against the left-hander.
"We didn't score," said losing manager Ernesto Durán. "That was the problem."
