Losing Streak Continues for Machine with 3-2 Loss to Browns
|
In a low-scoring tilt between the St. Louis Browns and the Chicago Machine, Aaron Palmer was the difference-maker. The St. Louis right-hander earned player of the game honors in the 3-2 win. Darren Blackwell earned his 2nd save in 2 tries. The Machine, now 18-30, have lost 8 straight.
St. Louis took the lead in the top of the sixth on a big hit from Jorge Torres. On a full count cutter from Anthony Jackson, Torres hit a run-scoring single. That made it 3-2, Browns. For the day, Torres went 1 for 4.
"We've hit a rough patch right now," said Chicago skipper Chip Justice.
