River Sharks Topple G-Strings with Late Rally
|
The Austin River Sharks knocked off the Nashville G-Strings, 9-3, at Gibson Guitar Park. Todd Bryant, who captured player of the game honors, was a big reason Austin won. The center fielder was 3 for 4 with a double and 2 singles, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. Austin reliever Josh Graham picked up the win to move to 1-1. Jesse Moser suffered the loss. The losses continue to pile up for Nashville, which has now fallen 9 times in a row.
Teddy Bates, not known for his power, had a big at-bat with no one out in the top of the ninth. That's when he connected on a fastball from Jesse Moser for a solo home run. His 1st home run of the season put Austin in front, 4-3.
"This losing is getting old," said Nashville manager Luis García.
