The Plymouth Rocks had to overcome a big game from Maui first baseman Luis Antonio Torres to leave Play Rocks Field with a 6-4 victory. Torres was 2-4 with a home run. He scored 2 times. Plymouth reliever Manuel Parra was the winner. His record is now 1-0. The losing pitcher was Steve Floyd. The save went to Robinson Gonzáles, his 14th this season.
Andrés Lara made an early impact for Plymouth when he stroked his 17th double of the season. The 2-run double, which came with no one out in the bottom of the third, put the Rocks on top, 3-2.
"The most important thing is that we won," Lara said.
The first-place Rocks lifted their record to 31-13.
