Frenzy Raise Rally Flag, Beat Kansas City, 6-3
|
The Niagara Falls Frenzy topped the Kansas City Kings, 6-3, with youngster Anastasio Villa playing a key role. Villa was 3 for 3 with a home run, 2 singles, and was hit by a pitch, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once for the Frenzy in the win. Reliever Kimitada Takai picked up the win. His record improves to 3-0. Mike Hodges took the loss. The Frenzy now have a record of 15-29 with the win over Kansas City.
Villa had a game-changing home run in the bottom of the eighth. On a 2-0 changeup from Mike Hodges, he banged a 3-run home run to left-center, giving the Frenzy a 6-3 lead. It was the 3rd home run of the year for Villa.
"I'm proud of the boys for pulling through," said Frenzy manager Derek Booker. "The wins don't come easy for this team, but everyone's got an extra jump in their step after a game like this."
