Kings Reel Off Another Win
|
The Kansas City Kings extended their winning streak at Edmund Fitzgerald Field.
The Kansas City Kings got a scintillating performance from pitcher Mark Head, who shut out the Niagara Falls Frenzy, 3-0. Head, now 2-1, was the winner. In 8 innings, he gave up 6 hits, while striking out 0, walking 2, and allowing no earned runs. Earning his 11th save of the year was Alberto Bonilla.
Chris Chandler had a big run-scoring triple for the Kings in the top of the fifth inning. With Kansas City leading 1-0 and a runner on 1st, he got a fastball from Ed Jones and stroked the triple to right. It was his 4th triple of the season, and more importantly, it put the Kings ahead, 2-0.
"Winning breeds more winning, I guess," said Head.
Kansas City currently is in third place in the Continental League Central Division at 22-21.
