Fresno Beats Chicago, 6-0
|
The Fresno Deplorables went home winners at Old Comiskey Park, thanks in large part to starter Nelson Ortega. Ortega silenced the Chicago Machine, enabling Fresno to grab the 6-0 win. The Deplorables improve their record to 28-12 with the win over Chicago.
One important at-bat came with the bases loaded in the top of the third inning. Facing Chicago hurler Aaron Thrash, Dani Vázquez, who is tied for 6th in the CL in bases on balls with 21, drew a walk, driving in 1 run. The Deplorables went on to win.
"It's a mindset," said Ortega. "Just trying to do your job, trying to be consistent."
