The Nassau Rockets defeated the Greenville 84s, 6-5. Earning player of the game honors was center fielder Carlos Torres, who hit 2 home runs. He drove in 4 runs and scored twice. Tomás Molina picked up the win with 6.1 innings of work. He allowed 2 earned runs on 4 hits, while walking 4 and striking out 5. On the season, he is now 1-0. Guan-cai Yong nailed down his 1st save.
Don Ramey had a clutch at-bat with one out in the top of the sixth for the Rockets. Coming up with runners on 2nd and 3rd and Nassau trailing 1-0, he hit a 2-run double.
"You know, at the end of the day, it's about who scores the most runs," said Nassau manager Juan López.
Nassau, at 3-1, is off to a blistering start.
