Browns Suffer 3-1 Setback
|
The umbrellas came out during the Vista-St. Louis contest at Stone Brewery Stadium.
Dale Reese never let the Browns get in a groove. The right-hander used his bread and butter, his change up, to pitch the Panthers to a 3-1 win. The win was credited to Enrique Muńóz in relief. His record improves to 1-1. Luis Noriega took the loss. David Simpson finished to wrap up his 7th save.
A crucial at-bat came with the bases loaded and two out in the bottom of the seventh inning. That's when first baseman Alfredo Rivera, who is a four-time All-Star, drew a walk, driving in 1 run. The Panthers went on to win.
"We made a couple of mistakes," said St. Louis skipper Jeff Porter, "and it cost us."
The losing streak for St. Louis has now reached 4 games.
