Boccabellas Fall Short at Greenville
|
The Greenville 84s bested the Pocatello Boccabellas, 3-2, at Michigan & Trumbull. Paco Rosas was named player of the game. He was 3 for 4 with a home run and a double. He scored 2 runs. Greenville reliever Paco Ruíz picked up the win, bumping his record to 1-0. Adrián Martínez was collared with the loss. Francisco Ríos closed it out for his 9th save.
Late in the game, third baseman Robert Buckley had a big at-bat for Greenville. In the bottom of the eighth, he hit a run-scoring single off Adrián Martínez. The play gave the 84s a 3-2 lead.
Pocatello manager Danny Lombardi said he was "mildly disappointed" with the loss. "We had our opportunities, but we didn't take advantage of them," he said.
Greenville has now won 4 games in a row.
