Gang Green Deal River Sharks Painful Loss

The Austin River Sharks wasted an inspired, 6-inning effort from starter Troy Lynn, falling 2-1 to the Irvine Gang Green at The Ballpark at Irvine. The winner was Mike Fisher in relief. His record improves to 1-0. Jean Burrows took the loss. The first-place Gang Green improved to 24-14.
Don Hooper was the walk-off hero for Irvine. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Gang Green shortstop hit a dramatic run-scoring double to send the teams home.
"This joint was rocking," said Hooper.
