Sandoval hits 2 home runs as Boccabellas Squeeze Past Austin
|
The Pocatello Boccabellas topped the Austin River Sharks, 4-3, with third baseman Francisco Sandoval playing a big role. Sandoval slugged 2 home runs for the Boccabellas in the win. Bud Baldwin got credit for the win, improving to 3-4. He allowed 3 runs on 8 hits in 8 innings. The save was credited to Jaime Espinoza, his 12th.
Sandoval had a game-changing home run in the bottom of the seventh. On a 1-0 fastball from Tatsuzo Harada, he banged a solo home run to right, giving the Boccabellas a 4-3 lead. It was the 7th home run of the year for Sandoval.
"We played a good game and came out on top," said Sandoval.
Pocatello occupies third place in the Continental League Western Division at 18-18.
