The Irvine Gang Green defeated the Baffin Island Beavers, 6-4, in National League action at The Ballpark at Irvine, with Irvine pitcher Raúl Saltines named player of the game. Irvine, at 23-14, sits in first place in the National League Western Division.

Buck Jones had a big bases-clearing triple for the Gang Green in the bottom of the fifth inning. With Irvine leading 2-1 and the bases loaded, he got a fastball from Jesse Little and stroked the triple to right-center. It was his 2nd triple of the season, and more importantly, it put the Gang Green ahead, 5-1.

"This kind of win will certainly make our fans happy," Jones told the Irvine Chronicle.
