Stars Win in Glorious Fashion
|
Kansas City got a terrific performance from pitcher Francisco Morales, but it wasn't enough to beat the Springfield Stars. Springfield won the Kekambas Park contest, 1-0. Morales was the player of the game despite being on the losing side. He threw 8 innings of shutout ball. The Stars, now 27-5, have stormed out of the gates.
Derek Davidson was the walk-off hero for Springfield. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Stars right fielder hit a dramatic solo home run to send the teams home.
"It's great when the crowd gets into it," Davidson said.
