The Bruins grabbed a win, 4-3, at Bay View Park, overcoming a fine effort from San Francisco pitcher Kunihiko Daikawa. Daikawa went 5 innings and allowed 1 earned run. So Cal reliever Jesús González got the win, raising his record to 1-0. Felipe Reyes was tagged with the loss. The Bruins, now 17-16, have won 4 in a row.
Earl Wiggins had a productive at-bat for the Bruins with no one out in the top of the tenth. With a runner on 1st, the catcher drew a walk. The at-bat was important in the So Cal win.
