Rockets Bang Out 8-3 Win Versus El Dorado
|
The Nassau Rockets trumped the El Dorado Oilers, 8-3, at The Ballpark at Sloss Furnace. Nassau shortstop Salvador Borbón was named player of the game for his performance. He went 1 for 3 with a home run and 2 walks, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once. The winner was Luis López, who threw 95 pitches over 6 innings. The right-hander was charged with 3 runs on 8 hits. The Oilers, now 11-20, continue their poor start.
Borbón had a big at-bat with the bases loaded in the top of the second inning, when he hit a grand slam. The Rockets went on to win.
"It feels good to get this one," Borbón told the Nassau Times.
