Avilés Now 3-1 After Subduing G-Strings
|
The St. Louis Browns got a strong performance from pitcher Armando Avilés, who stymied the Nashville offense en route to a 6-1 win at Gateway Stadium. With the win, St. Louis pushes its record to 14-14.
Avilés earned the win, going 8 strong innings for St. Louis. The native of Pedro Brand, Dominican Republic allowed just 1 hit, while striking out 9. Nashville hitters did next to nothing against the right-hander.
"We'll pop the top on a cold one and get back to work tomorrow," Avilés said.
