Rebels Fall Short at New Orleans
|
Boston got a terrific game from first baseman Frank Jackson. It wasn't enough, though, to prevent the team from falling to New Orleans, 10-9. Jackson was the player of the game despite being on the losing side. He went 4 for 6 with a home run and 3 singles. He scored 2 times and drove in 2. The Rebels fall to 11-16 and continue their uneasy start to the 2028 season.
The Looters got a big at-bat from designated hitter Taylor Smith. For the game, Smith was 2 for 4 with a home run and 2 walks, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. In the bottom of the 12th, with runners on 1st and 2nd, he stroked a run-scoring single. His 14th hit of the season gave New Orleans a 10-9 lead.
"This place was electric at the end," Smith said.
