Nevada and New York played a hard-fought contest at Roy Hobbs Memorial Ballpark.
New York got a terrific performance from pitcher Elton Johnston, but it wasn't enough to beat the Nevada Noise. Nevada won the Roy Hobbs Memorial Ballpark contest, 3-2. Johnston was the player of the game despite being on the losing side. He threw 6 innings of 3-hit ball. António Martínez picked up the save, his 2nd.
The most critical at-bat came in the top of the 11th inning. With two out, Fernando Martínez hit a 0-1 changeup from Ramiro Piña for a run-scoring single. It put Nevada in front, 3-2.
"Winning the game is always the first objective," Martínez said.
With the win, Nevada improves its record to 2-1.
