Beavers Bang Out 8-5 Win Versus Beech Mountain
|
Despite a fine performance by first baseman Miguel González, the Beech Mountain Mountaineers suffered a 8-5 loss to the Baffin Island Beavers. González was 2 for 3 with a double and 2 walks. He drove in 2 runs. The Mountaineers drop to 12-14 and continue their inconsistent start to the 2028 season.
Alonso Ferreira had a big 2-run triple for the Beavers in the bottom of the third inning. With Baffin Island trailing 1-0 and runners on 1st and 3rd, he got a cutter from Tim Hill and stroked the triple to center. It was his 2nd triple of the season, and more importantly, it put the Beavers ahead, 2-1.
"Nice to put this one in the win column," said Ferreira.
