In a low-scoring tilt between the Springfield Stars and the New York Knights, Anthony Erickson was the difference-maker. The Springfield left-hander earned player of the game honors in the 3-2 win. Erickson, the winner, moves to 3-0. He threw 7 innings of 3-hit ball, while fanning 6 and giving up no walks. Earning his 9th save for Springfield was José Valdéz.

Springfield took a 2-1 lead on Calvin Bennett's 5th double of the season. The run-scoring double, which Bennett hit in the top of the seventh, left New York pitcher Pedro Cabrera shaking his head.
