Noise Come Up Short at Beech Mountain
|
Beech Mountain beat Nevada at Park Top, eking out a 4-3 win. The win was due in large part to pitcher Yong-hoon Park, who earned player of the game honors. The winning pitcher was Park, now 2-1. He tossed 7 innings of 5-hit ball, while walking 0 and fanning 4. Matthew Scott was called on to finish, recording his 2nd save.
Beech Mountain took a 4-3 lead on Miguel González's 24th hit of the season. The 2-run single, which González hit in the bottom of the seventh, left Nevada pitcher Rob Greene visibly frustrated.
"We put together a nice win," Park said.
With the loss, Nevada sinks to 14-9.
