Ortíz 'Lights Out' in Maui Win
|
The Maui Tropics got a magnificent performance from pitcher José Ortíz, who muffled the San Francisco offense en route to a tight 1-0 Tropics win at Rainbow Stadium. The Tropics, now 2-1, have played some good baseball in the early going.
Ortíz, who dominated for Maui, earned the victory to move to 1-0. He was in control the whole game, scattering 3 hits over 8 innings, while striking out 12. San Francisco batters could never bunch up enough hits to produce a rally.
"There was no wiggle room in this one," said Ortíz.
