Great Effort by Boccabellas 2B Delgado Not Enough in 14-13 Loss
Despite a great performance by Pocatello second baseman José Delgado, the Beech Mountain Mountaineers defeated the Boccabellas by the score of 14-13 at Park Top. Delgado was 4-4 with 2 home runs, 2 singles, and was hit by a pitch. He drove in 5 runs and scored twice. Beech Mountain reliever Troy Parker was the winner. His record is now 1-1. The losing pitcher was Kevin Bush. Mang Tow got credit for the save for Beech Mountain. It was his 3rd of the year.

The Mountaineers took the lead in the bottom of the fourth when Chris Bates banged a two-out triple. Beech Mountain had been trailing 6-5, but Bates hit a first pitch knuckle curve from Kevin Bush for a 2-run triple.

"We put it together today and came out with the win," Bates said in postgame remarks. "That's the main thing."

Beech Mountain has a record of 10-12.
